Undergraduate/Recent Graduate Intern ProgramsThe CI Intern program offers an exceptional educational and work experience that could help you land a permanent job!We have opportunities in virtually every field of interest. Through mentorship of knowledgeable and experienced staff of various companies in the area, you will be involved in a variety of technical projects, enhancing your academic credentials as well as your overall educational experience. Companies who hire CI interns place a strong emphasis on offering rewarding challenges and skilled department mentors to develop your knowledge, skills, and professionalism in your chosen field. Your internship may even lead to employment when you graduate! CI Intern encourages you to obtain credit from your educational institutions for this experience. Finances/Hourly WagesAll interns are considered temporary, hourly employees of Columbia Industries. Wages are paid bi-weekly by direct deposit. |

The Mission Support AllianceThe Mission Support Alliance is a team led by Lockheed Martin, Jacobs Engineering and WSI, to assume responsibility for the Mission Support Contract. Under the leadership of Lockheed Martin's Frank Figueroa, president of the Mission Support Alliance (MSA), LLC, the team will provide a number of cross-cutting services to the DOE and other contractors at the Hanford site, such as safety, security and environment, site infrastructure and utilities, site business management, information resources and content management and portfolio management. The Mission Support Contract is a cornerstone of the multi-contract structure at Hanford and provides services and infrastructure across the Hanford Site. The contract is a cost-plus-award-fee contract valued at approximately $3.0 billion over ten years (a five-year base period with options to extend it for another five years). Under the Notice to Proceed, Mission Support Alliance will start implementing mission support projects including safety and security, site infrastructure, and business and information management. CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation CompanyCH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company is the U.S. Department of Energy's contractor responsible for the safe, environmental cleanup of the Central Plateau and paving the way for closure of the Hanford Site. The $4.5 billion, 5-year project focuses on reducing risks to workers, the public, and the environment while at the same time protecting the Columbia River. Our team is responsible for deactivation, decontamination, decommissioning, and demolition of 1,442 facilities and structures including two reactors; remediation of six burial grounds and 11 groundwater systems; treatment of more than 40 meters of sludge; and disposition of 6,200 meters of transuranic waste, 800 spent nuclear fuel containers, and 2,100 metric tons of spent nuclear fuel. |

Application DeadlineApplications are accepted year-round, and internship opportunities are also available year-round, depending upon the business. When completing your application, please specify which term(s) you are applying for. It is recommended to apply for summer programs by the end of March. If you are interested in summer internships, please apply as soon as possible. Most managers will interview and make their selections for interns throughout the late spring and early summer months.
